Brief summary

Lecture for teenagers in the frame of the Kids University Pforzheim (Kinder-Uni Pforzheim). Addressed issues linked to the rare earth supply: mining, chemical treatment, strategic control by China, price volatility, what are magnets good for, how are magnets made, WEEE, why recycling is important.
A question & answers session afterwards could also address why the recycling rates today are still so low, why politics don’t react more stringent yet and strengthen the awareness of teenagers concerning RE and magnets.
