[WORKSHOP] Resource-efficient Production of Functional Components made out of Critical Metals (GERMAN - 27 September 2017)

The third REProMag technology-transfer workshop organised by Coordinator OBE Ohnmacht & Baumgärtner (Germany) on 27 September 2017 in Pforzheim, Germany gathered presentations and talks in both fields of Additive Manufacturing and Metal Injection Moulding. Event language was German.

The main issue addressed was the resource-efficient production of functional components made out of critical metals: Additive Manufacturing and Metal Injection Moulding routes used in the REPRoMag SDS process.

The workshop enabled the REProMag partners to raise awareness for the Rare-Earth Issue (supply risk, strategic control, environmental hazard), to show possible solutions for a circular economy by using recycled NdFeB type material and finally to discuss new manufacturing methods like additive manufacturing with potential customers, suppliers and other interested parties.

It was the first time OBE organised a workshop on Rare Earth type materials and additive manufacturing. Participants’ feedback was excellent, however more time for networking will be arranged in the future. Programme
