[WORKSHOP] Industrial Applications for Additive Manufacturing (GERMAN - 13 June 2017)
The second REProMag technology-transfer workshop was organised jointly with the project addmanu coordinated by partner Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria) and took place in Leoben, Austria on 13 June 2017. Event language was mainly German.
During the day, a various range of techniques, materials and products, but also successful industrial applications were presentend for Additive Manufacturing.
The main objective of this workshop was to show the already up-to-now possible benefits of additive manufacturing regarding new technologies and new parts especially based on the results of REProMag, in order to increase awareness of the possibilities that Additive Manufacturing can bring to European companies and research centres. Achievements in REProMag as well as the related possibilities of the new approaches in additive manufacturing were addressed with three presentations given by REProMag members on the manufacturing of metal components by material extrusion and Vat polymerisation, as well as metal injection moulding.
Further experts in the field of additive manufacturing presented their technologies, such as selective laser melting, hot lithography, inkjet 3D printing and lithography based ceramic manufacturing. The workshop also included presentations about applications for additive manufacturing in the food, plastic processing, and medical industries.
The participants were satisfied with the broad but nevertheless applicable and interesting information provided. The workshop was also a good opportunity for networking with possible development partners. Programme
